We have a little routine of settling Ava for bedtime and naps too. It's not the best method but it works quickly and gets her to sleep. At first we used the swing and that worked until she got too big for it. Then we used the rocking chair and that phased out. Then we tried the stroller carriage on the rocking chair ottoman until that too phased out. Now we use the stroller and rock her to sleep, it usually takes very little time before she falls asleep. Once she's in a deep sleep (about 10 minutes) then I transfer her to her crib for the night. That being said, I was rocking Ava to sleep the other night and peeked in to see if she had fallen asleep. To my surprise she was not only wide awake but she began clapping! The joke was on Momma! I could not help but laugh!
Another funny incidence occurred this week as well. Ava loves to crawl back and forth throughout the apartment. She's like a newborn puppy who is full of energy and is nonstop moving. She even pants a little because it's such a workout for her. It's cute! Anyhow this week I was sitting on the couch while Ava was crawling around. We have our couch and love seat forming an "L" shape. She was on the side of the love seat where I couldn't see her. I would say "where did Ava go?" Then she would crawl back and peek around the corner until I was in sight and I would say "there she is!" and she began to laugh. It was so funny because she must have done this for at least 5 minutes. Vic and I couldn't stop giggling.
We love how much joy Ava brings to us on a daily basis. For this we are so grateful!
