What's she doing now at 14 months?

Our sugarplum is so entertaining at 14 months.
Below are some things she is currently doing or not doing.
  • She points with her finger at everything, it's so cute I just wanna bite her finger.
  • She says "ruff/woof" whenever she sees or hears a dog. I'm working on her saying the word dog b/c I have gotten some odd looks when she imitates a puppy!
  • Her top left tooth is growing in which makes her 4 teeth total. Two on the top and two on the bottom.
  • She loves to dance to music, basically she spins in circles while waving her hands, so cute
  • Eats more finger foods such as pancakes, french toast, chicken, bread, graham crackers etc.
  • Loves to be chased
  • Still loves her shows Super Why and Sid the Science Kid. Her favorite seems to be Sid since she never leaves the room while it's on.
  • Takes about an hour to hour & half nap a day. This is usually done in one or two naps.
  • Our formula days are gone. She drinks 100% whole organic whole milk. I say 100% because I gradually introduced the whole milk with her formula.
  • Still uses the bottle for her milk. Can't seem to get her to drink her milk from a sippy cup. Although she does drink water from the sippy cup. I have tried different styles of sippy cups and still no luck. We have about 5 different ones. So if anyone has any suggestions they want to share, please do.
  • She still loves her books and now points to the cartoons so we can identify them.
  • She can identify certain animals by imitating the sounds they make.
  • She is fascinated with pictures of people and animals and gets very excited.
  • She likes to fit herself in small spaces such as under our high top table behind the chair.

  1. sippy cup transitions take time. really thats all it is. they get comfortable with the bottle nipple. i too had a few sippy cup options for Evan and he didn't like any. he would only entertain the cup and not really drink from it. I then, only kept giving one particular cup everytime he ate so he would get use to that one cup. I wouldn't give the bottle unless he was really fighting me for it. Eventually, no more bottle. You may want to check the flow of the cup. try to get the flow/spout that resembles the bottle. Just keep trying, every child has their own time table.

  2. Aww - Bruno said she is just adorable and so much fun! I love hearing all that she is doing! The sippy cup can be a hard transition... as your friend's comment above says, just keeping trying - every child is different. Abigail was easy to get off the bottle - Grace was not! Maybe try not putting water in it anymore and just do milk in the sippy cup for a few days and see what happens.
