Hope everyone had a nice memorial Day weekend. Ours was nice. The weather was perfect all weekend, in the 80's. Vic doesn't get many holidays off but thankfully he had this one off so it was a long weekend for the both of us. Saturday was spent outdoors. A few weeks ago, Victor took on the project of redoing his Mom's backyard deck. The plan was to get it down before the Memorial Day cookout. He put in a lot of nights and weekends getting this finished in time. He reached his deadline the evening before the cookout. He had hoped to have completed it by noon but had no such luck. Both Ava and I had met him there with intentions of going to our friends cookout/ baby shower. We played outdoors all day while Daddy worked away. When everything was said and done, it was time to call it a day and head home.
Sunday we enjoyed a delicious breakfast that Linda & Mark prepared for us before the festivities began later on in the day. Victor has a large family and it was great to see everyone. Ava had many children to play and run around with. She took a dip in the pool with Daddy but wasn't interested in staying in for very long. She was on the go the whole day. By the time we left in the late evening, Ava quickly fell asleep on the ride home exhausted by our fun day.
Ava wasn't crazy about swimming in the pool and since then she hasn't wanted to take a tubby! :(
Check out that deck!!
Our weekend continued into the week when my brother arrived on Tuesday on business travel. All of us worked all day and then met up at Mom & Dad's for dinner. It was a nice surprise visit and Mom prepared a special treat, lobsters for dinner. It was a great meal. So nice to catch up. Ava enjoyed spending time with her Uncle Bruno and we can't wait until the whole family visits us next month!
