Anniversary dinner recreated

Since we were all sick last weekend, Vic & I had to push our date night to the weekend after. Originally we had intended to stay in town but our circumstances changed with Grandma & Grandpa Mark opting to watch Ava while we go. Since we were heading north already to drop off the baby we decided to eat a restaurant called Beehive which has live jazz band every night. We have been meaning to go here for quite some time and finally were able to. We are so glad we did. The atmosphere has an eclectic and cozy feel to it. We were seated near off to the left of the jazz stage.
We began our night with drinks, I had a delicious glass of Sangria which Vic had a tangy cranberry mojito. For appetizers we had out traditional favorite of oysters and sweet & spicy baby back ribs which were delicious!

Onto dinner! When ever he go out to eat, we make sure to bring a big appetite. We purposely don't eat much throughout the day to ensure that we enjoy everything on the menu! Vic chose duck risotto with jalapeno & scallions with shredded chucks of roasted duck. This was the best risotto I have ever tasted! Risotto to me is such a comfort food to me yet this had a real spice and kick to it at the end. Nothing short of delicious! My choice for an entree was roasted chicken with rice, chouico sausage, peas, and artichokes. This was also great and reminded me of my brother delicious paella.

No meal is complete without dessert in my book! With our cappuccino's we shared a divine Chocolate Pot de Creme topped with whipped cream and crumbled praline bits. What a perfect way to end our meal with a rich chocolatey goodness! I must learn do to make this, it was just amazing!

We had such a fun and delicious night out. It was so nice to be out on the town enjoying each other's company. Although our thoughts were on our sweet buttercup who was with Grandma & Grandpa with a bad cold. While waiting for our meal we got a phone call to hurry back because Ava was calling out for Momma but luckily Grandma got her under control and got her to settle down. So thankfully we got to continue & enjoy our meal! phew..
