Filled with Gratitude & Thankfulness

Last Sunday was just like any other Sunday. My husband and I and the baby all headed over to Target to get some shopping done. Miss Ava kept us on our toes with all her energy as usually wanting to see anything and everything. As we checked out, I stuffed my receipts/coupons into my wallet and threw it in my very large purse which was in the carriage. We had many bags to load up in the car and getting Ava into her car seat surely distracted me. We drove to our next stop, picking up some sandwiches for lunch. I reached into my purse and could not find my wallet, my very large and long black wallet! Vic said "I'll go in and buy them, while you check our bags. I'm sure you stuffed it into one of the bags and threw it into the car". I was beginning to get nervous but remained calm and thought of course it must be in the car somewhere. Well I dumped everything and still no wallet! Ugh, back we go to Target in hopes it was in the carriages. When we got there just 15 minutes later, all of the carriages were gone. I then run to customer service praying that someone turned it in. Again no such luck! They said call us this evening, perhaps it will turn up.

The ride home was a looong one. I was heart broken, all my cards, ids, cash were all in there. When I got home again I emptied everything out and still nothing. I soon broke down in tears and Vic said "honey it's just a wallet, it can be all replaced." While that is certainly true, I just couldn't help the wave of disappointment I felt. Shortly after, my Dad came over and I shared the news with him. Within 5 minutes of telling him, I received a facebook notification on my cell phone. I glanced at it quickly and saw that I didn't recognize the person. I logged on line and there was a message from a woman stating that her husband found my wallet! They found it on the exit of Target in the road. The silver buckle caught her husband's eye and he stopped and saw that it was a wallet. The wife looked me up on facebook and sent me a message to call her husband to make arrangements to pick it up. I called right away. He said everything was all in tact, credit cards and cash! I met him at a Dunkin Donuts and sure enough got my wallet back. I offered money for their honesty and for contacting me so quickly however he refused. He commented "I'm just glad I found it". You and me both!

Here is our idea of what had happened. I must have thrown my purse on the roof of the car and then put the baby in her car seat. As I got my purse, the wallet must have slipped out onto the roof and I completely missed it. It only fell off the car as we were taking the turn exiting the Target plaza.

I am still amazed at all this couple did to return my wallet. What wonderful people! And thank goodness I'm on facebook. Had I not been, I may have gotten my wallet returned after cancelling all my credit cards etc. I'm feeling so blessed this couple found it. Thank you! Here's to wonderful people out there. May their generosity return to them tenfold.
