Columbus Day Weekend

Despite the unpleasant incident I had on my actual Birthday I had a fantastic birthday weekend with the family. Columbus Day weekend was unusual for us weather wise. In fact, I can not remember such a warm weekend during this time with temperatures in the 80's. It was a treat to be outdoors and we spent most of it outside enjoying it. On Saturday we took Ava to the farm to pick pumpkins, the same farm where she had her birthday party last year. She loves animals and we had made the mistake of telling her the day before that we were going. ALL morning she kept asking, "Mommy, can we go to the farm now?" This occurred a few hundred times until we actually went after lunch. First we picked up Nana & Vovo and off we went. The farm was packed with families. Who could blame them with such gorgeous weather. Here are the animals we saw along the way.

Poor turkeys have no clue they will each be sitting on someones dinner table on Thanksgiving Day, ha!

Here is the Corn maze we went through that ended up with Mommy racing after Ava as she runs through it towards the end giggling :)

There was a bit of a line for the pony rides. I didn't think Ava would be patient enough to wait her turn but she did. This was her very first pony ride! She was so happy but I think I was more giddy walking along side of her.

Then it was off for a nice hayride of the farm.

Our last activity was pumpkin painting. Here is Picasso in the making :-p

Since we left the farm, Ava was already asking to go again. I'm sure we will go one more time before the season ends. Our day didn't end at the farm. Next we went to Mom & Dad's for an excellent birthday dinner for me. Yum!

On Sunday, Vic, myself and Ava had a fabulous lunch at our favorite restaurant overlooking the water. It was another gorgeous day to be outdoors.

Vic came home with these divine treats from Whole Foods. They tasted as good as they look. (My sis in law bought these pretty pumpkin placemats, love them).

My dear friend Jackie made my favorite pistachio cupcakes :)

A special thank you to all those who made my weekend so special. I love you all dearly!!
