Finding Comfort in Prayer

I had to share a sweet story of my 7 year old niece Grace that my sister in law shared with me. "At Grace's school, every day, the teacher asks the class if they have any special intentions before they say their prayer. Grace told me (her Mom) that she asked the class to pray for her uncle's dad."

This sweet intention moved me and everyone who heard it to tears. Just another example of how everyones' thoughts and prayers truly moved us, especially from our precious niece.

This is a perfect example of  in troubled times how we should become closer to the Lord and look to him for comfort. Below are some scripture where I have found solace in his presence.

Psalm 46:1-2
"You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. "

Matthew 10:29-31
"Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light."

Isaiah 43:2
"God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Isaiah 41:10
"When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."

  1. I'm glad you have found some comfort in knowing that everyone, including Grace, is praying for you. It is powerful... it does not take away the pain but hopefully it will bring some comfort.
