10 months & walking!

Yesterday Ava turned 10 months old, soon enough she'll be turning a year old! I know I say it all the time, but I just can't believe it's been 10 months already. Time passes by so quickly. I was fearful when I got laid off from work that my days would be so long and the week would go by slowly. However it has been just the opposite. Just like anything else, we have our routines (shopping, visiting Nana & Grandpa, going for long walks, etc.) and before we know it the day has flown by and Daddy has come home from work.

Here are some differences from last month:
* She feeds herself cereal and uses her sippy cup all on her own.
* She just started walking on her own 2 nights ago. She began taking little "trips" such as from the kitchen to living room. Now she is walking all over the place. It's so cute to see her hands in the air in attempt to balance herself as she walks. You can tell how proud she is as she walks and we couldn't be prouder!
* She tilts her head to look at you in the most adorable way.
* Baby food is becoming less appealing each day. I have been getting creative by distracting her with airplane & bee noises so that she can get something in her belly.
* She no longer wants her ONE & ONLY chuxa (pacifier). What once soothed her no longer does. I was hoping she would want it a bit longer because it helped so much when putting her to sleep. Oh well, time to get creative again!
* She loves her small library of books. We have a small basket in the living room and she goes through them all the time on her own and with us too when we read to her.
* No sign of teeth yet.
* She loves to play ball with Daddy and even tries to kick it too.
* She enjoys going shopping in the shopping cart and looking at everyone while she snacks on her treats - yogurt melts & cereal puffs.
* Her nap frequency has lessen from 3 to now 1 a day. Does she sleep longer through the night? Yes, but only 1/2 hour longer.
We thank heavens daily that we have such a sweet, happy and healthy baby!
