Autumn has arrived

I feel I blinked and poof September was gone in no time. And now October is here and Autumn has arrived with it's cool nights and pretty foliage. I can't say I prefer one season over another because as each season changes I'm ready or getting ready for it. I often get tired or bored with the same old so the change of seasons are welcomed by me. I guess that makes me a true New Englander! Besides who can resist such comforting things such as hot chocolate, apple pie, candy apples, toasty fires and apple/pumpkin picking? I sure can't.

Since Autumn began I have been anxiously awaiting to pick pumpkins with Ava for the first time. Today we went to a local farm that is before the Patriots played of course in order to appease the hubby... It's all about compromise ;) We took a very bumpy wagon ride into the pumpkin patch past the apple orchards that looked so delicious. There were many children on board and Ava enjoyed smiling and waving to them on the ride. Vic & I searched high and low in search of the perfect pumpkin to display on our outside porch. Ava seemed a bit overwhelmed looking at all the pumpkins on the field. I would have loved to have known what she was thinking! We had a great time and captures some fun moments below.

In keeping with the spirit of the season, I made candy apples when we got home (see 1st pic above). It feels like fall when I have one of these, yum! Happy Autumn everyone! Enjoy it now before it flies by.
