Rag quilt trend

So I recently stumbled on a few blogs that show the latest trend in quilting, rag quilting. I have done many sewing projects but never attempted a quilt. Everyone who has made one claims it's easy so I'm hoping they are right. Besides they look so fun and cute, a nice contemeporary update to the tradional quilt. I've decided to make one for my living room, replacing my old olive throw. My color scheme will be light green, brown and yellow. I just purchased the needed fabric online and spent a small fortune in fabric so now I'm praying it comes out as nice as the ones I have seen. I can't wait for my fabric to arrive so I can start my project.

Here is were I got my inspiration from: Live Laugh Sew . The etsy website also has lovely rag quilts for sales as well.

Stay tuned...

  1. Hi I saw you linked to me, so I thought I would check out your blog. The rag quilt is actually pretty easy to sew. Everything does NOT have to be in perfect alignment, as with a regular quilt. The killer is the cutting of the seams to make it rag. I would recommend getting the special rag quilt scissors. Good luck!

  3. You'll have to let me know - the most "sewing" I have tackled is the tie together blankets!! Good luck!
