Ava's Gymnastics Party

This year I came up with the idea of doing a Woodland theme for Ava's 3rd Birthday party. In fact, I came up with this summer and started working on little items here and there. We were planning on having it at my in laws home. Clearly all that changed once Mark passed. So we had to scramble to find a place. Our place is just to small to have everyone over. It so would have been nice to have a home!! I called so many places and naturally they were all booked until mid December. My last call finally came through! It was were Ava had her gymnastics class earlier in the year. They had an opening the Sunday before Ava's birthday, thank heavens! A woodland theme was no longer appropriate at a gymnasium. Guess I will save for blessing No. 2 :) So I went with the oblivious, a gymnastics/ballerina theme. I began working right away creating the invites, party hats, signs, favors, etc. I must admit I LOVE doing it all. It's my creative outlet and I enjoy making it special for Ava. She truly appreciates it all. Each time I finished something, she would always complement me on how pretty it looked and would rush to show Daddy what I made for HER party. Bless heart, that is the true reward of planning everything -the joy and the excitement that she shows.A week before her party, Ava tells her Nana & Vovo, she is so excited for her party and to play with her friends. She then goes over our lunch & dessert menu.

The invites were easy to make. Just downloaded gymnastic clip art online and added it to my template. I also used the clip art for the banners, stickers, thank you cards etc.

All the kids went home with a personalized water bottle, stickers, star ribbon wands and a gold medal. The color scheme was purple & pink with silver. With a couple of boys on the guest list, I tried to accommodate blues & greens for their party favors. Let's face it, no boy wants to take anything pink or purple home.

Here is our pretty & silly birthday girl!

The Gymnastics staff did an excellent job following my requests on how I wanted everything set up. The best part was not having to do it!

This came out exactly how I had hoped for. The best part was when I showed Ava and she said, "it's so cute..Look Mommy it's Ava!"

Ava was full of energy and was on the go go go throughout the obstacle course in the gym.

The kids all seemed like they had a great time running around playing.

After gym time it was time for pizza and cake.

Ah the birthday song! For some reason only known to Ava, she is not a fan of the Birthday song.
She has cried in the past and here she is cringing and blocking her ears.

It was so fun to see our sweetheart have a blast on her special birthday. Party planning is a lot of work but so worth it. Happy 3rd Birthday sweetie. We love you!!
