Prepping & Enjoying the Christmas Season

This year we decided to put up our Christmas tree the weekend of Thanksgiving, marking it the earliest we had ever put it it up. I'm so glad we did because it definitely set the tone and put us into the Holiday spirit. Ava was so into decorating the tree and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. With the tree and the home decorated, I was able to get an early start on my shopping too which was nice. I was even able to craft some projects into gifts too which I will show later.

For the past 3 year we have sent out Christmas cards however this year it was becoming debatable weather that would happen. Luckily however we got some cute photos of Ava at our local farm. They offered a horse drawn jingle hayride with the Grinch on board. Ava got into the Grinch this year after watching it on TV. She was so excited to see the Grinch however she got worked up when she saw him. Luckily the Grinch got off so Ava could enjoy the ride.

I'm so glad we got these out and continued with our Christmas card tradition.

We also made a trip to the La Salette Shrine in Attleboro to see all the Christmas lights however the batteries on our camera only lasted for one photo. We also had a hayride and the group we were with all sang Christmas carols which made it super fun. Ava had a blast singing along.

We started some fun Christmas activities, such as the Chocolate Advent Calendar. Ava asked for her chocolate first thing in the morning and ALWAYS attempted to get another one right after.

We also made our first Gingerbread house too per Ava's request! It was a family project. Daddy constructed it. After it set, Momma applied the frosting and Ava added the candies. We also ate a lot of the decor along the way! All part of the fun :)

You all know already how much I enjoy making crafts. This year I decided to make a few as gifts for my family. Below is the New Years' wreath I made for my Sister in Law. I like how festive it looks.

Since my nieces were in town this Christmas, I wanted to do something special for them. I made Christmas pajamas for them & Ava. The girls got to open this gift on Christmas Eve so they could wear them on Christmas morning. I may not be able to keep up with making these every year but I like the idea of having new pajamas for Christmas morning for the kids.

Our three year old really made this Christmas special. Just seeing her excitement and joy in creating memories and traditions really brought a lot of happiness to us and made this Christmas even more special.
