Sweet Valentine's Day

When I was putting away our Christmas decorations, Ava kept asking me why we were putting all the pretty decor away. I had to explain that the holiday was over and we would have to wait until next year to put it them up again. She seemed disappointed so I made it a point to decorate earlier for the next holiday ~ Valentine's Day. She was excited about this. I made yet another wreath. This was a fun and easy one. It's a heart shaped wreath made with spice drops. I made several trips to the grocery store because I had no idea just how many drops I needed to complete the project. It took me about 6 bags. Of course they need to be sorted as they do not come in Valentine colors of red, white and purple. This was a fun project to do while watching TV.

We just celebrated Valentine's day yesterday. Unfortunately my lower back pain returned over the weekend and I was back at square one! I can not explain how frustrating and disappointing this is. When a pain like this occurs there is literally nothing I can do other then lay down, rest and apply ice to help the swelling go down. Anyone who knows me knows that lying around is not easy for me! It's such a waste when I feel like there are tons to do. I like getting things done and feeling productive. But sometimes we need to surrender to control in order to gain some control. So back to the Chiro I went this week and will continue to go in order to strengthen and align my back properly. Praying this pain goes away again but for good!!

Despite the pain, I was determined to bake heart shaped sugar cookies with Ava. Ava loves to bake and help out in the kitchen. She lite up when I told her and we had a blast. It was so worth it! Below is a photo of one of our cookies we handed out to our loved ones.

What's better then baking cookies? Eating them of course!

On another note, I had my test yesterday for gestational diabetes. You need to drink a not so great tasting syrupy drink exactly one hour before your appointment. They then prick your finger and test your blood work. The results are instant. I'm happy to report that my blood sugar checked out fine and so did my iron. So I was happy to hear that. One less thing to worry about!

We hope you all had a Wonderful Valentine's day with your loves. A special thank you for all of those whom helped make it extra sweet!!
