Getting through this

The last trimester is always the toughest. This is when most of your weight gain occurs and everything begins to feel uncomfortable. I know this having gone through this with my first pregnancy. Yet this time around has been much more challenging. Throw in chronic lower back pain, severe canker sores on my tongue that look as if my tongue has been in a meat grinder and then top it all with wacky pregnancy hormones. The result is an emotional roller coaster. That will likely break anyone down much less a pregnant lady who works full time and cares for a three year old weeknights and weekends while my husband either works late and most weekends. Don't get me wrong, I can not wait to meet our newest love. It's just that this last leg of the journey has not been easy with my body constantly failing. I can't help to think what is next?? God willing nothing as major as these. I have 8 weeks left until due date. Just eight weeks to get everything in order. At first I wasn't worried but now with so little time left stress and anxiety is setting in especially when I am constantly trying to recover from something which leaves me with little or no time to get things done. Thank goodness we have a lot of big ticket items that we don't have worry about. I know we will be fine by the time our sweet pea arrives. Just the process of getting there is a bit overwhelming at times. But like anything, we need to check things off our checklist one by one until we get the job done. What do we need to do you may wonder? We need to make room for the baby in our little place. That means we need to pack & put A LOT in storage in order to have room for all the baby items we need like the crib, changing table, swing etc....So all the baby items we packed away in storage need to return and all the stuff we accumulated and don't need, we must pack and store in storage.

I feel like I have been in isolation for the last month trying to recover from my back or cankers. I hope no one out there takes it personally. I really wish to get out and socialize and it has been driving me absolutely nutty not being able to do so! Hopefully all that will change soon.

So despite my ailments, pregnancy is moving right along. I got another very active and strong one. She is constantly moving about. I do feel more movement with her in comparison to Ava. My latest cravings include strawberry yogurt which I have been eating daily, yum! I also can't get enough of bread, I eat it daily and often. Getting dressed is becoming quite the challenge as I am constantly growing out of pants. Hopefully the few remaining pairs will last until she arrives. I also find myself short of breath many times through out the day.

Our last ultrasound hasn't been scheduled yet but I am so looking forward to seeing her on the screen again. It really touches your heart when you see them moving about. You can even get a little taste of their mannerisms too just watching them move about. It's so exciting, can't wait.

  3. Maurilia - I echo everthing Jackie just said! I know how stressful this time can be and on top of that you have many other things on your plate, along with your back and canker sores, Vic working extra hours, etc. Just know that you are loved and have a support network of friends and family who will do anything to help!

I'm glad you wrote about the stress and anxiety because sometimes it's helpful just to write it down. And I guarantee you that we have all been there with being overwhelmed!

I wish you could wave a magic wand and make all the toys go into storage and have all the things you need come out of storage. And I wish we lived closer so we could help out.

Take care and try not to stress (easier said than done, I know). You are a fabulous mother, auntie, wife and friend to many!
