Just a Few More Weeks

The count down has been on since I reached 10 weeks remaining. It seems like forever until our due date but yet we only have 3 weeks left to go. Are we ready?? We have been working hard on getting organized, prepared and checking things off our checklist. We have the essentials ready such as the car seat, the bassinet (Thank you Mom & Dad!), the light weight stroller (thank you Bruno & Kristen!), and Ava's baby swing all set up. I am currently working on the hospital bag just in case she debuts early.

I want to thank those who have been just excited to meet this blessing as they were with Ava. It seems to me that the children born after the first don't seem to get the same enthusiasm as the first. We are over the moon excited with this little one just as we were with Ava. It means a  lot to have some of our family and friends have not lacked that same excitement with this special little blessing on the way. I truly believe each baby is a miracle and should be celebrated as such no matter if they are the first or last.

Ava is absolutely convinced her sister is going to look exactly like her with curly "yellow" hair and blue eyes. When I say what if she looks like Momma she says "no no no no, she is going to look like me". We shall see. Speaking on seeing, we got an impromptu peak of our love. During my weekly doctor visit this week, she was concerned the baby was growing too big for delivery based on our last ultrasound. So she scheduled another ultrasound to check the baby's size and the fluids right after my visit. I was excited to see the baby again. My fluids checked out good. All the measurements were taken and it turns out the baby's growth rate has slowed down a bit. Last time her weight was in the 80 percentile. Now she is in the 70 percentile and weighs 7.2 lbs. Phew!!! Both me and the technician were relieved! Her growth rate will most likely continue to slow down a bit until she arrives. This time we were able to get some 3D images of her too. Below is an image of our sweet pea. I also included Ava's 3D image for comparison although it's difficult to compare since the angles are different. However they both had their little hands near their face.
