Easter Weekend

We had a lovely Easter weekend. I was lucky enough to have Good Friday off from work this year. Ava & I spent the day doing some Easter crafts. With only a few weeks left until the baby comes, I love & cherish these times with her. We painted eggs with Nana & Vovo and had our friends up for a visit.

By the way, we haven't had the baby yet! Ava insisted on wearing her Big Sis tee shirt, after all we are close enough!!

Coloring her Easter Eggs. Here's a good tip to create a stronger dye, add a splash of vinegar. You can really see a difference. The egg takes the dye so much more. I loved that we did them in the kitchen sink too, no mess and easy clean up.

Ava even surprised me by writing her name for the first time on one of her Easter eggs! I thought she was just scribbling until she said "Look Momma, I did my name". I was absolutely stunned! Apparently Nana & Vovo were teaching her last week and she got it! This was a proud Momma moment :)

Saturday we visited Grandma. Ava enjoyed running & playing outdoors while Grandma got some yard work done.

Easter was at Nana & Vovos.
I love this dress. I remember having a similar one growing up. I actually bought it last year and it was too big for Ava. Luckily I remembered this dress when I couldn't find anything I liked for an Easter dress this year.

Ava was so giddy with delight for her Easter hunt.

Ava found the Grand prize, her Easter basket!

Mmmmm white chocolate equals bliss. Usually I'm not a fan of serious photos. For some reason they always sadden me. For me to like a serious photo, there needs to be more to it such as a hint of happiness like a twinkle in the eye. I love this photo because Ava's sweet expression.

The Easter basket highlight was the cheapest item, balloons!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter with their families & friends. We spend out a special thank you for all those who spoiled Ava with Easter goodies, she loved it all. More importantly we loved spending time with all of you this Easter weekend.

  1. Great pictures of fun family times! I like the idea of Easter egg dying in the sink! The directions for ours this year called for ONLY vinegar - no water. I was so surprise but it really worked and the colors were so vibrant. Looks like a great wekend!

  2. Thanks Kristen. That's a good idea, next year I'm using just vinegar for bright colors. Thanks for sharing :)
