and then there was more.. snow!

It is the end of January and I have lost track of how many snow storms we have had already. Far too many to keep track! Last night we got hit with yet another one. I estimate we got a good eight inches of top of everything we already had. So after work I made a run to the supermarket, to make sure we were stocked up in the event work was closed for me. However this was more wishful thinking because we didn't close. Luckily Miss Ava slept while I dug out the car this morning. What a work out that was! I understand how people have heart attacks from shoveling all that heavy snow.. It was a reminder that I need to get in shape.
I really have seen enough snow but I must admit that newly fallen snow is pretty and calming to look at first thing in the morning. I was able to snap a few pictures this a.m. of the birds feasting on the suet cakes I bought them last night. We must take care of our feathered friends in storms like these. We had the regulars feasting - the blue jays, cardinals, woodpeckers and finches.

This pic was taken right next to my work. As I was pulling into the parking lot I saw a deer right in the middle. I quickly parked and ran over here in hopes of still catching him but he had escaped. Darn, that would of been a great picture. I just love seeing the wildlife in new fallen snow. So pretty!

I had been hoping that I would be home baking with Miss Ava but instead here I am at work. Back to work for me! Happy Thursday everyone! The weekend is almost here.

  1. What an absolutely gorgeous picture (even without the deer)! Is that normally a road? It's time for Spring for you guys!

  2. Hi Kristen, the picture is of the railroad tracks right before my work. Bruno's boss and the surrounding mayors took a nice picture there in the fall with the foilage. It's a pretty spot.

And we can't wait until Spring!!
